Report a power outage?

If several neighbors’ lights are out, it’s likely that there’s a fault in the grid outside your home. If the power has only gone out in your home, there may be a fault in your electrical system.

In the outage map you can check if we have a planned outage in your area or have registered a fault. If a fault has been registered in your area, we are working to localize the fault and rectify it. By clicking on the fault in the outage overview, you can see when the power is expected to be restored.

THE POWER HAS ONLY BEEN ON AT MY HOUSE
If you are without power, there is either a fault in your electrical system or a fault in the grid outside your home.

  • Check that the main fuses and RCDs are intact.
  • Check that the inlet fuses are intact. These are usually located in the attic or basement, depending on whether you have an overhead line or cable into the house.
  • If any of these have failed, it is likely that there is a fault in your system. You need to contact an electrician.
  • If everything is in order with your system, you can call our 24-hour fault report hotline 970 37 295.
  • Please note that the customer will be invoiced for fitter’s costs if it turns out that the fault was nevertheless in the customer’s own system.

The earth leakage circuit breaker has tripped
Try reconnecting the earth leakage circuit breaker. If this does not work, there is a fault in your system. It is not Midt-Telemark Energi’s job to rectify this. For troubleshooting, you can try the following:

  • Remove/unplug all course fuses
  • Check main fuses
  • Connect the RCD
  • Connect one and one course fuse
  • The RCD trips when the faulty circuit breaker is connected
  • Disconnect the circuit that causes the RCD to trip and reconnect the RCD
  • Further troubleshooting is now limited to one course. There may be a fault on an appliance connected to the course. Disconnect all devices and insert the course. Try to insert one appliance at a time. When the RCD drops, you have found the faulty appliance. If necessary, you can contact an electrician.
