Guidelines for plus customers

There are requirements for production facilities connected to the low-voltage grid as well as requirements for certification of the equipment to be installed
according to current guidelines.

Technical functional requirements

Føre sets technical requirements for production facilities so that these facilities do not contribute to reduced voltage quality in
the distribution grid.
All production facilities must be reported (elsmart) via an authorized electrical installer and approved by Føre before connection.

The connection of production facilities is made in accordance with REN sheet 342 “Technical functional requirements for connection and grid rental agreements for
feed-in customers in the low-voltage grid”. The REN sheet is based on European standard EN 50549-1. All requirements in the REN sheet must be followed when the European standard is applied, including the national requirements specified in the REN sheet.

Føre does not allow single-phase generation systems above 3.7 kW, as these often cause problems with voltage quality in the grid. It
is recommended to install three-phase generation systems.

All low-voltage electrical installations must comply with the requirements of NEK 400. NEK 400 has a separate chapter on photovoltaic systems, 7-712, which
sets out a number of requirements for the design of the photovoltaic system itself, commissioning tests, switches, protection, etc.

All equipment must be CE marked and thus also comply with relevant requirements for safety, EMC, etc.

Other requirements

The plus customer scheme is limited to plants that deliver less than 100 kWh/h to the grid. Larger facilities must
limit their net delivery to the grid to this limit. If this is not the case, the facility will be regarded as a production facility and a separate feed-in tariff will apply. This must be agreed separately at start-up.

Photovoltaic systems larger than 800Wp must be registered via an authorized electrical installer.

An AMS meter with communication is required to become a plus customer with Føre.

The installer must pre-notify the system before installation begins. The system must also be notified before production is connected.

A declaration of conformity for inverters must be enclosed with the pre-notification (a declaration of conformity is a document that shows that the product
is type-approved in accordance with the selected connection standard).

Agreements

Plus customers pay ordinary grid rent in the same way as all other customers when they buy electricity. However, when you sell electricity to the grid,
you are paid by the electricity supplier for the electricity supplied (separate agreement with the electricity supplier). Plus customers do not pay grid rent for the electricity supplied to the grid.
