Prolonged power outages?

Carrying out preventive maintenance and good contingency plans should contribute to a secure power supply. But remember that you can also take responsibility if the power goes out.
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE?

Our most important task is to deliver a reliable power supply. We work continuously on preventive maintenance to reduce the risk of long-term power outages. Good contingency plans ensure access to crews, equipment and personnel when extreme situations do occur.

The municipality is responsible for taking care of the population living in the municipality at any given time. During emergencies and disasters, the municipality must implement measures to protect the population and ensure that important social functions are maintained.

Electricity customers are responsible for their own situation if the power goes out. If you are dependent on electricity, you should arrange for a backup power supply. It’s a good idea to have an alternative source of heating and ensure access to food and water.

GOOD ADVICE FOR YOU AS A CUSTOMER
Keep a gas burner on hand in the event of long power cuts.
Føre wants its customers to feel safe even when the power goes out. Everyone should therefore make sure to have:

  • Alternative heat source (wood stove, gas stove).
  • Additional fuel for the heat source (wood, oil, gas).
  • Flashlights/headlamps available with extra batteries.
  • Oil lamp or a lamp powered by solar cells.
  • A small food store that can be stored at room temperature (canned goods, crispbread, nuts, etc.).
  • Primus available for heating food and water (gas grill can also be used for this).
  • Radio that runs on battery power.

EXAMPLE OF SHOPPING LIST
Everyone is advised to review their own situation to best assess what should be purchased. Here is an example:

  • Extra wood
  • Extra gas bottle (for primus/gas grill)
  • Batteries
  • Matches

  • Canned goods and other food that can be stored
